As the days pass, it becomes clear that the faeries need a leader, and Cara finds herself sucked into a world where morals don’t exist. The truth of her past is hidden in the magic, but all Cara needs to do is survive the king’s coronation, then the fae will let her go forever.

But that’s not what she wants anymore, and it’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between a king and a half-blooded solitary fae. Cara’s losing her way, and her heart, to the fae, but there’s still her life, and her humanity, left to lose.

To be found and shock the other worldly beasties and make her the queen she should be. I loved this book! In the coming books will she find her blood ties are much stronger than thought? Will she become the queen everyone in the land deserves? Whom will she choose as her mate for eternity?

This is a great read if you do not stop to think about the plot too hard. No seriously, the writing style was fun, but the plot was telegraphed way in advance. The heroine, well don't get me started on that one. I sure hope this was an attempt at portraying a lost teenager burdened with depression of near suicidal levels because otherwise we have a clone of the twilight chick (B-something she was called I think.. Barbie?). Mandatory love triangle sort of occurs, and is sort of ready for future expansion as well, but fear not there are absolutely ZERO sparkly vampires. (don't ask about sparkly Fearies though that's not fair, they sparkle by design)

So how the hell am I giving this 4 stars one might ask? Despite the most cliché foreshadowed plot I saw in a long time it still got me reading until the end.

Usually I am skeptical of books I get for free, but imagine my surprise when I found myself lost in it. I couldn't get enough. The characters were well fleshed out and the storyline moved forward lightening fast. There is some sexual content, so may be best for a 16yr old and up crowd. It wasn't terribly graphic and more about the emotional connection than the physical. I loved the way it not only hopped from the human world to the fae realm, but also the way they overlayed and mixed. You could also feel everything that the characters felt and there was plenty of mystery and mayhem mixed in. Can't wait to read the next one in this series! I just can't say enough about the enjoyment to be had reading this!

It's one of the best Fae books I've read, Claire Farrell has an amazing way of describing the world of fae and making you feel like you're right there watching it as it happens. I found it hard to put down and as soon as I finished couldn't wait to purchase the second in the series. This was the first book by this author that I've read, but I look forward to reading many more of her works. If you like the world of Fae at all this is a must read!

I very much enjoyed going back and forth between the two guys, I am leaning towards the King. He just sounds super-duper fun! Anyway back to the book. For all Cara has to deal with, I think she handles it all very well and I find it intriguing.

Overall very well written. Keeps you interested until the very end with well-built characters. I will definitely continue the series.

The story line was okay. The main characters motivations aren't clearly communicated, so throughout the book I am left wondering why they are doing/acting the way they are. The main character would do irrational things like eating/drinking from fae, even though a few pages before she mentioned that no human should ever do it. It was a lot of, "I shouldn't do this", then does it anyway. If the whole story would have been less ambiguous then I would have given it 4 stars.

This series does a ton of things that I hate, but I still end up loving it. Without giving too many things away, the story is fantastic adventure. Even though there is a love triangle (yuck) I love the characters. I really get annoyed when series have multiple books all concerning the same issue but I've chewed through them all and I'll probably read them again to try to catch things I missed the first time while I was just needing to know what happened next! I really appreciate that the characters aren't 15 year olds. I think Cara's in her 20's? and that's a huge plus to me. I love Claire Farrell's writing style and I look forward to reading more of her books! Thanks!

This novel made me thirsty for more! Quick read and very difficult to put down. It was one of those books that gets better and better the further into the book you go. I was a little disappointed at the way it wrapped up so quickly at the end, but I understand the author was setting up for the next installment. Definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoys fae books.

It was a good book, not to much repetitive detail which gets annoying and just enough information about the characters. You start to fall in love with the fae realm and its people. The details were very well written to get a mental picture of the characters and surroundings as well as how they are feeling. Well done. Would recommend this series.

Well I honestly think this is the first of this author's books that I have read and what a great book to start with. I was completely hooked from very early on and as soon as I finished last night I bought and downloaded Fade, the next book (I have started it and looking great thus far).

I love reading about the world of the fae, even the dark side which is just as well as the fae in this book can be awful.
A young woman has herself an Alice down the rabbit hole type
scenario only the hole is a path and she winds up at a fae festival. There she meets Drake who helps her escape. When she next meets Drake he is not quite the same as there are now two souls in his body and both need her help.

I love picturing the fae being extremely mischievous and bad and the effects magic has on humans is a fun angle. Some great scene building and awesome characters.

This is a must read as well as a good read no I mean a great read. Go on get your copy it really is worth it.

A new take on Fearies who according to the author are sneaky and mean.. well some are good but they are selfish and in between a human with faerie blood tries to find her place and help them appoint their new king. Her courage and attitude are commendable....
