Description: As an illegitimate fishing guide on the waters of Southwest Florida, Shamus Pickford rarely gets a day off to enjoy the sport he has done his entire life, but when he does, he calls on his old friend Klinger Nowell to accompany him. Klinger is one of Florida’s good-ole-boys and is unapologetic about it. He lives full speed and no grease. The two set off at the break of dawn with one thing in mind — a day filled with beer, boats, and buzzes. After filling the baitwell chock full of bait, first stop, Turtle Bay.. For Shamus Pickford and Klinger Nowell, things couldn’t be going any better, and with a few fish already in the boat, a few beers down the hatch, their spirits remain higher than a satellite, but when spotting a precarious plane flying above Charlotte Harbor, then dropping a package, curiosity gets the best of them, a decision they will soon regret.. Shamus is hesitant at first, with his pragmatic thinking. Klinger is the wild one, the one that convinces Shamus to investigate. When they find it, they soon realize that they are not the only ones looking for it. With one misstep, Klinger gets kidnapped. Two goons floating off the coast aboard a boat named The Itinerant are the crate’s rightful owners, and will do whatever it takes to get it delivered to the proper party. Shamus is now determined to rescue his friend. Problem is, the kidnappers damaged his boat, cutting the fuel line, which leads him to call on his neighbor Flip, who’s riding out an afternoon thunderstorm pressed against the mangroves. Flip agrees, and when the kidnappers take refuge inside an old fish shack in Turtle Bay, things for Shamus and Flip take a turn.. The fish shack is surrounded by water, and any attempt at a rescue will leave them fully exposed. Turtle Bay, introducing Shamus Pickford and his side-kick Klinger Nowell, is the first novel in the series.. About the author: David Earth is a passionate outdoorsman with a high fever for writing.
