The Gospel in a Single Verse considers each part of 1 Timothy 1:15 to bring the gospel to today’s reader in Spurgeon’s straightforward style. As “sinners” we need to be “saved,” “Christ Jesus” came as Savior, and He willingly came “into the world” in order to save His people from their sins. Lastly, realizing that Paul considered himself as “chief” of all sinners brings us to deal realistically with our own sin.
