Anatomy of Revenge

This novel is a suspense thriller. Two delightful teenage girls grow up in the coal mining town of Unionville, West Virginia. Their lives are filled with wonderful interactions with family, friends, and fellow workers. The women’s carefree lives turn into tragedy when Suzanne becomes Controller of the Union Coal Company. She is accused, together with Company Officials, of conspiring to defraud the United States and the Company. James, a former suitor of Elizabeth, becomes a top-notch lawyer within the U.S. Attorney’s Office and just happens to be assigned to prosecute Suzanne in court. The case evolves into suspense as to whether she will be exonerated or spend considerable time in prison. Will James’ success as a Federal Prosecutor against Suzanne doom his relationship with Elizabeth? This novel touches on cultural changes from the 1950s to the 1970s wherein shorter work weeks and higher wages made possible lifestyles not affordable in previous generations.
