I want to be the best of me.” Join Bobbi, the baby elephant, as she embarks on a journey of self discovery to realize how she can make the world a better place.In The Elephant Dreamer, Bobbi is trying to find her place in the world. She has been told by many that she is “special.” Convinced that she has gifts to offer the world, she sets off on a mission to find her calling. Unsuccessful, she is left dismayed (and injured). Mr. Owl reaches out to her and she shares her dilemma. Mr. Owl tells Bobbi that her specialness does not involve what she does in the world but how she does it. He confirms those characteristics that contribute to her uniqueness (kindness, caring and compassion). The story leads the reader to discover that it is not necessarily what we do in life but how we do it, that allows us to make the world a better place. Optional comprehension questions are included.
