What’s Right in Front of You follows Skye O’Connell and Miles Healy as they embark on their tumultuous senior year. Skye is Hillcrest High’s class clown, but she’s no stranger to turmoil. Between secretly being in love with her best friend and navigating a distant relationship with her parents, she yearns for the day when she can leave Hillcrest behind forever. When she returns from her summer vacation in Hawaii, she meets Dallas, the mysterious new guy from the city who could end her world as she knows it. Miles is Hillcrest High’s resident Mr. Happy-go-lucky. His life is nearly picture perfect: captain of the basketball team, dating the girl he’s had a crush on since middle school, and loved by all who meet him. When his best friend, Skye, ghosts him, he’s forced to face the safe life he’s manufactured to get her back.
