In the foothills of the French Alps, longtime friends Andrew (reckless, thrill-driven) and Christian (cautious, analytical) stumble onto an off-map track that leads into the mountain—and into something that should not exist: a full-sized train entombed in rock, its boxcars packed with war-era crates, strange components, and a fist-sized puzzle-cube covered in grooves like a scrambled key. When they report the find, the discovery explodes into an international spectacle—money, NDAs, officials, and a carefully managed story that scrubs the strangest evidence from public view. But behind sealed doors, Oxford scholar Professor Chandling and a small classified team realize the train is more than a historical atrocity preserved in stone: it’s part of an unfinished system, and the missing “cube” is the piece that wakes it. As pressure mounts to recover the key, Andrew and Christian are pulled back into the orbit of the secret investigation—and into the thing the Nazis were trying to exploit: an ancient, engineered network that behaves less like a machine and more like an intelligence with rules, gatekeeping, and enforcement. The closer they get to activating it, the more reality starts to feel… editable— memories slipping, cause and effect bending, and the sense that something on the other side is watching for the credential to return.
