Raw memoir of growing up Mormon and LGBTQ+, battling addiction, psychosis, and faith-driven shame, and ultimately choosing recovery, honesty, and self-acceptance.

KINDLE

This is a story about faith and fear, silence and survival, hitting rock bottom — and choosing to climb back up. This memoir highlights my journey of growing up Mormon and LGBTQ+ and the impact of faith on one who is not accepted within it. Follow the journey through religion, addiction, love, psychosis and mental illness. I was raised to believe that righteousness solved everything.

Growing up in a strict LDS home, I learned early how to follow rules, suppress questions, and hide anything that didn’t fit the image of spiritual perfection. What I didn’t learn was how to live with a brain that felt broken, or emotions that refused to be prayed away.

It is for anyone who has ever felt trapped by expectations, silenced by shame, or afraid they were beyond saving.
