Seven Years Between

This debut novel tells the story of Carol, the daughter of an alcoholic father whom she loves and fears, and a practical career-driven mother who does what it takes to care for her daughter during the challenging years of the depression and WWII.
As Carol is left without a full-time parent to care for her, she must live as a boarder with a series of three different foster families from the time she is six until she is thirteen. Seven Years Between is a coming of age story about a young girl’s survival through personal loss and tragedy. But through it all, she learns that selfless unconditional love can nurture hearts back to health. With a colorful cast of characters, Carol overcomes obstacles with courage, humor, and perseverance.
