The Sierra Nevada is a graveyard for secrets. This winter, it’s also a cage. The Syndicate has one rule: Never leave a witness.
I’ve spent my life running the most dangerous ridges in Tahoe, moving things the world wants hidden. I don’t make mistakes, and I don’t catch feelings. But when a high-altitude job goes sideways, I break the only code that keeps me alive.
I don’t kill the witness. I take her.
Trapped in a remote cabin as a record-breaking blizzard buries the world outside, the lines between protector and predator are blurring. She thinks I’m her savior, but she hasn’t seen the darkness I’m capable of. To the Syndicate, she’s a loose end. To me, she’s a “hard limit” I’m not ready to cross.
As the ice closes in and the hunters become the hunted, I have to decide: Do I save her from the monsters at the door, or am I the one she should really fear?
In the freezing dark of the Sierra, survival and obsession meet at 6,000 feet.
