Both were pragmatic patriots, bound by Dharma and driven by responsibility toward the land they called home.

This eBook is a tribute to the legendary Guru–Shishya duo who laid the foundation of one of the greatest empires of the ancient world.

Due to the loss of many detailed historical records from the Mauryan period, especially from Chandragupta Maurya’s reign, this work incorporates elements of historical fiction. I have taken creative liberty to reimagine events, emotions, and conversations while staying anchored to the spirit of the era.

This book is not a replacement for academic or textbook history, nor does it claim absolute historical accuracy. It is a retelling — my subjective contemplation on Āchārya Chānakya and Chandragupta Maurya — written for readers who love ancient Indian history and historical fiction alike.
