**More than a pet, she is my heartbeat.**

Born in Japan and now living in the suburb of Seattle, Nana finds her greatest joy in the presence of her 14-year-old Pomeranian, Sugar.

This photo collection captures the heartwarming journey of two souls who have walked side-by-side through life’s most profound transitions. What began as a Christmas gift for Nana’s daughter—a little sister to complete their family—has blossomed into an extraordinary lifelong partnership.

When Nana’s daughter grew up and moved out for university, Sugar transformed into Nana’s devoted Emotional Support Dog, guiding her through the challenges of empty nest syndrome and the quiet solitude that followed her third divorce.

But do not let the word “support” fool you—these two are the life of the party!

From the energetic streets of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Pride Parade to the Japanese Bon-Odori Dance Festival, Sugar is always by Nana’s side.

As a proud mascot of the 100-member dance team, Seattle Thrillers, Sugar even joins Nana in full zombie costume for the annual Thrill The World event. Whether they are dancing on stage with the Lady Gaga tribute band, Poker Face Seattle, or simply enjoying a quiet Seattle sunset, their bond is a testament to the idea that love is the best dance partner you could ever have.

This book is a photographic tribute to resilience, unconditional love, and the magic of finding joy at any stage of life. Through the lens of their daily adventures, Sugar and Nana remind us that we are never truly alone, as long as we have someone by our side who loves us just as we are.

**Discover the story of the Seattle duo who proves that it is never too late to dance, to love, and to be happy.**
