Krystal Jones is tired of being broke, tired of the hood, and definitely tired of her baby daddy Jamal’s Family Dollar paycheck.
In this short story from the Revenge series, Krystal is convinced she’s finally found her way out of the hood when she sets her sights on Stefan Johnson, a handsome college football star with NFL dreams. The only problem? Stefan doesn’t know about her live-in boyfriend, her four children, or the lies she’s built to make herself look like the perfect catch
An original short story from Fed Up: Tales of Revenge

My foster mom always told me that I wouldn’t amount to shit.
She swore up and down that I’d always be stuck in the hood, working at the drive-in movie theater for the rest of my life with three or four babydaddies.
Well guess what?
That fat bitch was wrong and if she were still alive, I’d spit right on her fucking face for being a dumb bitch.
Yeah, I’m twenty-nine and I’ve been working at the drive-in since I was sixteen but so what? I was promoted to shift supervisor two years ago.
As far as my kids, she was wrong about that too. I didn’t have four or five babydaddies. I only got 2. 2 of my daughters were living with me and my babydaddy, Jamal. The other two girls are with my first babydaddy, Carlton, but that ain’t my fault. My two oldest girls were taken away when I was in high school but that’s a story for another time. Long story short: their grandma is a meddlesome busybody who snitched on me for leaving my girls home alone overnight. Well how the fuck else was I supposed to make it to my second job at the Jolly Rancher? I couldn’t bring toddlers to no damn strip club!
