Silver Beach Summer

Whatever could go wrong for Lisa and her mom the three years following COVID unfortunately did. First, it was her sister, then her husband and now her father. If that wasn’t enough, because of it all, she lost her job. Moving back home temporarily to help her mother downsize following her dad’s demise while searching for a new job, little did she expect to bump into her old boyfriend from high school who, without explanation, had dumped her. Of all places, it was at the cemetery where they were both decorating their father’s graves, realizing that they were ‘eternal’ neighbors. Accepting a coffee invitation for the purpose of closure, she never expected it to become more. Yet, he proved to be a sympathetic friend, especially knowing Mandy her younger sister, who left behind three young children and a husband who quickly moved on. Her heart shattered in so many ways, especially when their desire to remain in the children’s lives was constantly thwarted, she didn’t know if she could take any more disappointment. However, for her mother’s sake, Lisa had no choice but to go forward, especially when Matt and his mom invited them to attend grief counseling at his church. Would it make a difference? Did she dare take a chance? Could it be divine intervention? Hopefully, her teenage sanctuary of Silver Beach and all its activities and memories would open her heart once again.
