Ian Gidman’s debts are growing by the month, and there’s nothing he can do about it. His partner, Richard Tweedle, is favourably inclined towards some serious financial misappropriation at Ian’s expense and, like a twig in a raging torrent, Ian’s life is spun around by events beyond his control.
Ian’s wife, Nancy, is not the home-maker she purports to be, and soon their marriage is heading towards the rocks. Their son, Pete, is dating Tweedle’s daughter who is hiding secrets of her own. When Ian’s old school friend pays a visit and brings his sister, Claire, with him, Ian finds himself infatuated by her smile and her honesty.
When Tweedle gains control of the business, Ian moves on. But just as he thinks the situation is improving, his former partner goes on the offensive once again and it seems that, even when he’s thousands of miles away, Ian can’t shake off his adversary. Meanwhile there’s a ten million pound embezzlement going on, right under everyone’s noses.
Chasing Paper is at times, funny, at times sad. Sometimes full of hope, other times despair. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions with an action-driven plot. But who’s pulling the strings and orchestrating events? It has the feel of a lady’s hand.
