Our protagonist is sent to assist Duke Eudes and Charles Martel in stopping the invasion of France by eighty thousand Umayyad, and finds himself on both sides of the battle.The Siege of Jerusalem 1187 AD;Our protagonist and an unlikely adversary must work together to survive the transfer of power from Christian Lord Balian of Ibelin, to the armies of Salahad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub (Saladin).Meanwhile, ITER robotics is asked to incorporate synthetic silicon brains into a number of construction robots.The artificially intelligent robots take on sentience suspiciously quickly.Andalusia Spain 1496 AD. Our protagonist meets his adversary in the form of the Inquisitor Tomas Torquemada, who brings him to meet King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. When he turns out to be his enemy, Torquemada attempts to have him burned at the stake.Although this may sound a bit hard to make plausible, I think that I present enough science, explanation, and historical fact to make it believable and fun.
