A man is murdered on a neighboring ranch, and Chase McGraw is called to assist in the investigation. Jenny is the man’s 15-year-old daughter, who is now an orphan. In her despair, she finds her father’s small stash of savings and attempts to hire Chase to find his killer. Janice and her new husband take her in temporarily, and the whole family becomes involved in the search, along with Bob Thornton, a deputy sheriff who is also Chase’s friend.
