Mia’s daddy made Mama anxious when he came to visit. He was a large man, even for a grownup, and he frightened Mama. Mia guessed she would be frightened of him too, if he hit her like he hit Mama. But he never did. How could he? Mia was his little mouse. Mia wished she wasn’t little. She wished she was strong. She wished she could make it stop. Tonight Mia discovers she can. A short story of paranormal horror, “Little Mouse” received an Honorable Mention in 2015 from the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future contest.
