When “CC” Giovani, reporter, accomplished amateur sleuth and co-owner of the Howard Beach Weekly Gazette, gets a call from the Captain of the Howard Beach Police Department at seven in the morning, it could only be bad news.
Someone tossed a body of a naked woman in the marshes. The victim looked so much like “CC”, that Joe Murphy thought it might have been a relative. But, “CC” had no idea who the woman was, regardless of the note that accompanied the body indicating the murder was being committed in her name.
Over the next month, the body count rises and “CC” doesn’t understand why these women have become victims of a serial killer. According to the police, the only connection these women had to each other was their strong resemblance to “CC”, which meant that every time a murder was committed, the killer was murdering “CC” in effigy.
She goes through her files on murders and cases short of murder she helped solve over the years, and could find no connection with the victims or their families.
Things become worse when the killer uses arson as a distraction, putting the residents of Howard Beach in harm’s way.
“CC” feels responsible for the deaths of these innocent victims and is determined to
unravel the why and the who, even if it puts herself in danger.
She creates an ingenious plan to help capture this evil being with the help of her three childhood friends Amanda, Chrisie and Kellie. One of whom becomes the lure to help capture the serial killer.
