No Weapon: a Short Story

She doesn’t believe, but when evil knocks, she soon learns that she’s never really alone…It’s the Fall of Alexis’ sophomore year in college, and she finds herself going home for yet another family event. She loves her family, but their religious practices are far from normal. Not to mention, she’s also dealing with the woes of her unwelcome monthly visitor. Despite this, she is excited about school and Halloween and is trying to keep in high spirits. Right on queue, as if sensing Alexis’ distress, her bestie, Emily, invites her to a haunted Halloween attraction, which they soon find out is a lot more realistic than they thought.
