I was drawn to thrillers with alien invasions, futuristic technology, and interstellar conflict. Then I read 1984 by George Orwell, a dystopian story of love, survival, and rebellion in a world perpetually at war. It lit a fire in me, and after that I was hooked on science fiction.Q: What are your favorite types of literature?A: I’m still in a horror state of mind. Classics like Dune, Frankenstein, Ender’s Game, and anything by Bradbury hold a deep place in my heart. Lately, I’ve been drawn to space warfare stories filled with squad tactics, genetic enhancements, and alien species. Anything with squad tactics, really.Q: What was the first science fiction film you ever watched?A: The first sci-fi film that grabbed me had to be the classic. You know it. Star Wars. It is the ultimate sci-fi space adventure story. It has everything. Action, invasion, exploration, superpowers, extraterrestrials, all wrapped around an interstellar conflict. It’s a story that works whether you’re a child, teen, young adult, or an adultQ: How have your early reading experiences influenced your writing?A: Looking back at the novels that grabbed me as a teen, I can now see how they shaped my writing. The Martian taught me how to build a tense atmosphere. Brave New World showed me how to create a believable future of advanced technology and genetic engineering. And Ray Bradbury’s “The Veldt” demonstrated how even the simplest things can turn deadly.Q: What can readers expect from this book? The Asteroid Heist is a gritty space opera blended with crime fiction. You’ll find outlaw crews, alien mercenaries, futuristic tech, double-crosses, and a galaxy where violence is always just a breath away. It’s perfect for fans of cyberpunk, space adventure, and sci-fi crime thrillers.Q: Who will enjoy The Asteroid Heist the most?Anyone who likes fast-paced science fiction with a criminal edge. Fans of Richard K. Morgan, Neal Asher, James S.A. Corey, or gritty cyberpunk and space opera will feel right at home.
