Written in celebration of 250 years of American Independence
Mid-April 1812. Mr. Bingley’s continued absence from Netherfield and Mr. Darcy’s reserve—bordering at times upon arrogance—offer little encouragement. To compound matters, Mr. Bennet’s health declines, and the entail threatens Longbourn’s security, while Mr. Collins waits with uncomfortable patience. Mrs. Bennet grows ever more anxious to secure suitors for her daughters.
Then a letter arrives from London. A younger Bennet brother—believed lost during the American war some thirty-six years earlier—has returned to England. He intends to call at Longbourn.
In a house where inheritance governs destiny, what difference might an American uncle make? Can the Bennets trust the stranger who bears their name—or will his arrival disturb what little certainty remains? His reappearance promises more than reunion. It brings hope.
