Xui and Wei were madly in love. Inspired by the hopes pulsing through the new China that infused the student population, and with a passion for each other that raced in their veins, they threw themselves into the democracy movement of Tiananmen Square. The authorities cared little for their love and less for their cause. The protest was brutally crushed and they, like thousands of young minds, had their futures and their lives snatched away. Before being beaten and murdered like so many others, Wei made one stand for his belief and for his love. He stood before the tanks and challenged them. His image spread across the world. Pursued by the police forces he ran with his young love. Through thirty years their love remained true and only on the anniversary of the massacre, is there an opportunity to reignite what was once lost. As the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre looms, so too does the reappearance of those who played a key role in the inspiration that formed the new China.
