In this 3rd book of the ‘Ice and Gold Series’, we find our intrepid characters: Luella, Edith, and Swiftwater Bill have done the remarkable and arrived in Dawson City. Each has been called to the Klondike for radically different reasons and brought with them backgrounds, belief systems, and flaws that will not only be altered, but will be entwined for all time during this wondrous period of human endurance.They have weathered high, snow covered passes, ice choked rivers, personal loss, and the worst of mankind’s deceptions to venture nearly five-hundred miles overland from the Pacific’s salt water to the Yukon frontier and the Klondike boom town.During this summer season of 1898, they are part of the 30,000 souls that crushed in on the city during the prior few months, all with the intent of getting rich, either by digging in the mud for gold that was said to be lying about in the grass, or to mine the miners at a poker table or in a bedroom.
