When a prominent state senator and a retired Green Beret vanish while kayaking, Inspector Addison Caldas arrives back in her New England hometown to augment the investigation. Upon her arrival, she quickly realizes that their disappearance is shrouded in an eerie and complex mystery with faint hints of terrorism, corruption and blackmail.
