The Committee Wars: Book I the Great Escape

The Committee Wars is a coming of age, dystopian, science fiction, action novel set in the near future after the United State’s second civil war. The slow burning fuse that ignited this great divorce was lit by the man made, 2020 global pandemic and the resulting test for social compliance and domination. In this series, A new war is coming, as the lessons of the past are forgotten. The Committees are, again, preparing for war. People are dying and spies are everywhere.
The east coast is ruled by the Green Committee extremists where every thought, inkling, and urge is monitored and controlled to force one to worship Mother Nature. Those that don’t conform are starved and slowly tortured to death through the deprivation of basic human needs. On a citizen’s 13th birthday the frivolities of youth are no longer overlooked. In Book I The Great Escape, Simon Greer is looking down the barrel of his 13th birthday and about to be sent to re-education camp for his divergent beliefs, until fate intervened and he was offered asylum in the Smith Committee. Simon and his fellow refugees dared to defy the totalitarian rule of the Green Committee and must run for their lives.
