How I Magically Messed Up My Life in Four Freakin’ Days
Things not to do when you find out you’re a wizard: #1 Do not destroy your dad’s apartment with magical fire. You WILL NOT get the security deposit back.#2 Do not form an alliance with the guy who is trying to murder you. This will end badly.#3 Do not drag the girl you’re desperately in love with into your wizard mess. You risk her watching you fail miserably.#4 Under no circumstances should you get in the middle of an epic magical battle. Death will happen. Lots of death and bad things. I found a magic cell phone, opened an app I shouldn’t have, burned down my high school’s theatre, and it was all downhill from there. A seer guarded by the undead is my only hope for keeping my mom alive, and I’m pretty sure the cops are after me for destroying my dad’s penthouse. But it gets better! Now I’m stuck being the sidekick to the guy who got me into this mess in the first place. It’ll be a miracle if I survive until Monday. How I Magically Messed Up My Life in Four Freakin’ Days is a whirlwind ride through a magical world. Girl of Glass
The Hunger Games meets The Twilight Saga in this new dystopian romance. Two worlds. One glass wall. No turning back. The human race has been divided. The chosen few live in the safety of the domes, watching through their glass walls as those left on the outside suffer and die. But desperation has brought invention. New drugs have the ability to alter humans, giving them the strength to roam the poisoned night unafraid—but survival comes at a terrible price. Seventeen-year-old Nola Kent has spent her life in the domes, training to protect her little piece of the world within the glass. The mission of the domes is to preserve the human race, not to help the sick and starving. When the fate of an outsider child falls into her hands, Nola dares to venture beyond the security of her home, diving into a world of darkness and vampires. Life within the glass didn’t prepare her for the realities of suffering or the depth of forbidden love. When blood washes over the domes, Nola must choose between her home and her heart. Girl of Glass is an action-packed dystopian tale. If you like romance, strong heroines, and a touch of paranormal danger, then you’ll love joining Megan O’Russell’s 350,000+ satisfied readers. Praise for Girl of Glass “Honestly, I have stayed up far too late reading this – and I have no regrets.” – Amazon Review “In this thrilling novel, Russell explores an apocalyptic world through the eyes of a girl who must find a way to bridge the gap between humans and monsters, all the while moving on from an uncertain life that knows nothing of sorrow.” – Readers Favorite “A wild ride with strong emotions, real problems & hard choice solutions. Makes the pages fly. Creates a need to read the entire series to see what happens.” – Amazon Review “I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat as I was reading. Looking forward to reading the next one.” – Amazon Review “I don’t want to give too much away, so all I will say is this book is probably close to the perfect dystopian YA novel.” – Amazon Review Author Interview What inspired you to write Girl of Glass? I wanted to write a story that combines a mid-apocalyptic world with the excitement of the paranormal—weaving vampires, werewolves, and a touch of zombie action into a story about a girl living in privilege at the end of civilization. What makes Girl of Glass a different kind of dystopian tale? Most dystopian books are written from the point of view of the downtrodden. You’re seeing everything through the eyes of the people desperately trying to survive from day to day. Nola is one of the privileged few chosen to survive the apocalypse. Seeing the end of the world from the point of view of the chosen 1% helps to explore the question of what our obligation is to help those who suffer. Why would readers enjoy Girl of Glass? With a mix of romance, danger, vampires, and survival against terrible odds, Girl of Glass offers readers a unique story that will keep them up late, desperate to find out what comes next. Praise for The Girl Without Magic “With magic, action, discovering new worlds and tons of adventure, this is an exciting tale which promises to become the first step in a great series.” ~ Amazon Review “I was enchanted by The Girl Without Magic from the first page and absolutely loved this thrilling adventure.” ~ Amazon Review “There are witches and wizards, spells, other realms, romance, and war, just about a little bit of everything that makes this an exciting, unique read that you’re sure to enjoy!” ~ Amazon Review “The adventures and misadventures that ensue had me breathlessly clinging to my Kindle to find out if Maggie and her accidental companions would win the day.” ~ Amazon Review Author Interview What was the inspiration behind The Girl Without Magic? After writing The Tethering series, in which the Siren’s Realm is briefly visited, several readers expressed a wish for an entire series to be placed in that world. It was a great idea, so I ran with it! The Siren’s Realm is a place linking magical worlds together, which gave me the opportunity to create a series in which my characters could visit amazing lands. Think of this as a fantasy version of the world-hopping concept. Readers who love Doctor Who and magic will have a great time discovering adventure in new magical worlds in every book in this series. What did you enjoy about writing the character of Maggie Trent? Maggie is a strong female who is constantly thrown into impossible situations. She is caring and capable, she has seen fighting and death, but ultimately, she has still protected this tiny shred of hope that carries her through. As she visits alternate worlds, as she battles new foes, as she learns to survive in the Siren’s Realm, she still believes that there are people and places worth saving. And that takes an incredible amount of strength.
