Groomed for Marriage (Ryan Mallardi Private Investigations Book 1)

REVIEWS:★★★★★ Delightful find! I happened upon this book while searching for “clean” romance novels, and I was delighted to find it written from a Catholic perspective! I’m reading the second book now, very much enjoying the series. ★★★★★ Excellent story writing. I read Groomed for Marriage in one day. A great story that could happen to any young woman. The story was fast-moving and full of lessons about life. I enjoyed the writing style . . . QUICK SUMMARY: The Mallardi Private Investigative Series introduces the Christian family saga that revolves around Fr. Liam, who was a cop for 25 years, but is now a priest, and his surrogate-father relationship with Ryan Mallardi, a young fatherless private investigator and how their lives and families weave together by the Hands of Fate. Book 1 opens the family saga with Fr. Liam’s niece, Colleen and her newlywed husband, Jacob, who are adjusting to life as a married couple. All seems well on the surface until Colleen begins to think her husband doesn’t love her anymore. Everyone around her suggests she is being negative and just needs to adjust her marital expectations. The evidence seems to support their point of view, but Colleen can’t let go of a nagging feeling that something is not right. Ryan Mallardi thinks he is in love with the statuesque and beautiful Angelica, but his desire to move towards marriage is constantly veering off course. Fr. Liam counsels him and deeper truths about what is really going on begin to emerge but Ryan is not quite ready to face them. After being hired to find out what is really going on with Jacob, Ryan unravels the real reasons behind the sudden changes, which shock everyone, most of all, Colleen. TRIGGER WARNING: There seem to be a theme or two in the book that trigger some women who see cooking and/or traditional marriage as some sort of abuse or at the very least, problematic. So if you don’t like priests or women who cook or do other “traditional family things”, this may not be the ebook series for you. Darius – A Vampire Story (Newport Vampire Stories Book 1)

John-Luke is a quiet, intellectual who passed almost unnoticed through high school and college. He signed up for what he believed would be a quiet period of discernment at a monastery but then he ran first into the presence of the what he thinks is a vampiress and then into the beautiful and distracting Genevieve, all on his first night. His life goes sideways. Genevieve and Ciara Regan are being ‘fixed up’ by their wealthy, blue-blooded socialite mother who always has some kind of matchmaking scheme brewing for one or both of them. Ciara has learned to be ‘quietly uncooperative’ but her sister Genevieve is more rebellious. While dodging her mother’s choices, the outgoing and vivacious Genevieve has her own covert husband-capturing scheme going on, and Ciara — well, she loses hope that love is ever coming for her. Darius Luca Lazarescu, a local mortician and owner of the Balmont Funeral Home and Cemetery Properties, is a vampire who has, over a few lifetimes, devised a workable survival plan where he feeds from two to three women, no one gets hurt, no new vampiresses are created and Darius remains under the radar at his funeral home and cemetery business. Unfortunately, his dark vices get the better of him and he occasionally drinks too much alcohol or blood and that’s when things really go upside down — for all of them, including the mafia-hired private investigator who is looking for Big Sal Luciano’s daughter who was last seen with Darius. Life was somewhat calm for everyone until Darius’ bad habits got the better of him and then he fell in love with the daughter of the local rich socialite. Read more
