Ten years on from an airborne infection Britain is overrun by zombies, part human, part vegetation. These crossbreeds are fuelled by photosynthesis and firmly bound together, by tendrils of ivy, into groups or chains.At night, the process of converting light to energy diminishes to the point where the zombies lose their ability to move. They remain observant, but rock gently through the dark hours.Humans have all but died out. Rich and I decide it’s time to stop treading water. Our mission: To embark on a night-time journey to the Shetland Isles in search of an island sanctuary, people, a real life, who knows, even possibly love.Zombie Chain is an adventure. It’s about relationships, friendship, working together to achieve our goal. We face challenges, death, hardships, and a new breed of zombie that threatens all life on the mainland. We meet others, as desperate as us, and journey together by bike, foot and sailing boats.Can we possibly make it?
