Being a writer keeps me stuck to my laptops and other books by different authors, such that by the time I check out how many times that I have eaten good meals in a day, I can successfully count maybe once or twice. If I am not snacking on something small, I am getting food outside.
And for someone who is concerned with what she ingests, eating out isn’t a good option for me as most times I find myself complaining about the store-bought meals I get.
I was at the end of my tethers when I found out about cooking with crockpots from another writer friend.
I was working over at hers one day and she got into her kitchen for a few minutes, she came back out, continued with her writing, and went back into the kitchen like 5 hours later to bring out two steaming plates of red beans and sausage.
I was like “how?” and “when?”. Because she never left the living room after she had gone into the kitchen for a few minutes. She laughed and told me about cooking with a crockpot.
She asked if I had a crockpot. Of course, I had one that was piling up dust in my store, because I had never had any reason to cook with it.
She then explained that due to her busy nature, she relies on cooking with a crockpot every time and she gets the best meals all the time!
That was my introduction to crockpot cooking, and I have never stopped experimenting with my crockpot so much so that I have quite a lot of crockpot recipes, out of which I have highlighted in this cookbook, so, get you a copy now!!
