Putting Our Best Book Forward
Whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave. – Matthew 20:27 You cannot have Christ if you will not serve Him. If you take Christ, you must take Him in all His qualities. You must not simply take Him as a Friend, but you must also take Him as your Master. If you are to become His disciple, you must also become His servant. God-forbid that anyone fights against that truth. It is certainly one of our greatest delights on earth to serve our Lord, and this is to be our joyful vocation even in heaven itself: His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His face (Revelation 22:3-4). Charles H. Spurgeon originally wrote this book for members of the Young People’s Society of Christian Endeavor. Spurgeon’s heartfelt writing style makes this book one that today still encourages believers to move into Christian action. He emphasizes simply moving forward, using the talents and resources you already have at your disposal, for the Lord’s service and your own eternal reward. The concepts presented are easy to understand and straight-forward, if only you are ready to lay down your life to follow Christ. Prevailing Prayer: a Thorough Study on the Subject of Prayer
Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God, for unto thee will I pray. – Psalm 5:2 This book is a comprehensive study on the subject of prayer, and will show you that there are nine elements which are essential to true prayer. These elements are as follows: 1. Adoration – We cannot meet God on a level at the start. We must approach him as one far beyond our reach or sight. 2. Confession – Sin must be put out of the way. We cannot have any communion with God while there is any disobedience between us. 3. Restitution – We have to make amends for the wrong, wherever possible. 4. Thanksgiving – We must be thankful for what God has done for us already. 5. Forgiveness – We must forgive others and pull any root of bitterness that might be growing. 6. Unity – Loving one another brings power in prayer. 7. Faith – There must be faith, which the preceding things produce. 8. Petition – Thus influenced by the other things, we will be ready to offer direct petition, or requests, to God. There needs to be more petition in our prayers. 9. Submission – After all these, there must come submission. While praying, we must be ready to accept the will of God. Dwight Moody expounds on these nine elements in this volume, using illustrations and stories to validate what he is saying and to help make the truths in this book stick. About the AuthorDwight L. Moody, determined to make a fortune, arrived in Chicago and started selling shoes. But Christ found him and his energies were redirected into full-time ministry. And what a ministry it was. Today, Moody’s name still graces a church, a mission, a college, and more. Moody loved God and men, and the power of a love like that impacts generations.$0.00$14.99 -

Becoming a Church That Cares Well for the Abused
Is your church prepared to care for individuals who have experienced various forms of abuse? As we continue to learn of more individuals experiencing sexual abuse, domestic violence, and other forms of abuse, it’s clear that resources are needed to help ministries and leaders care for these individuals with love, support, and in cooperation with civil authorities. This handbook seeks to help the church take a significant step forward in its care for those who have been abused. Working in tandem with the Church Cares resources and videos, this handbook brings together leading evangelical trauma counselors, victim advocates, social workers, attorneys, batterer interventionists, and survivors to equip pastors and ministry leaders for the appropriate initial responses to a variety of abuse scenarios in churches, schools, or ministries. Though the most comprehensive training is experienced by using this handbook and the videos together, readers who may be unable to access the videos can use this handbook as a stand-alone resource.$0.00$4.99 -
Investigating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ: a New Transdisciplinary Approach
This book provides an original and comprehensive assessment of the hypotheses concerning the origin of resurrection Christology. It fills a gap in the literature by addressing these issues using a transdisciplinary approach involving historical-critical study of the New Testament, theology, analytic philosophy, psychology and comparative religion. Using a novel analytic framework, this book demonstrates that a logically exhaustive list of hypotheses concerning the claims of Jesus’ post-mortem appearances and the outcome of Jesus’ body can be formulated. It addresses these hypotheses in detail, including sophisticated combinations of hallucination hypothesis with cognitive dissonance; memory distortion; and confirmation bias. Addressing writings from both within and outside of Christianity, it also demonstrates how a comparative religion approach might further illuminate the origins of Christianity. This is a thorough study of arguably the key event in the formation of the Christian faith. As such, it will be of keen interest to theologians, New Testament scholars, philosophers, and scholars of religious studies.$0.00$7.99 -

Putting Our Best Book Forward
Is humility a Christlike attribute that should be pursued? And even if it should be, can genuine humility actually be attained? Often so practical in application that it is overlooked, the answer is found by studying the life and words of Christ (whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave). This little book is a loud call to all committed Christians to prove that meekness and lowliness of heart is the evidence by which those who follow the meek and lowly Lamb of God are to be known. Never mind that your initial efforts will be misunderstood, taken advantage of, or even resisted. Instead, learn from the One who came not to be ministered unto, but to serve. For a Christian to be alive, for the life of Christ to reign in and through us, we must be empty of ourselves, exchanging our life for His life, our pride for true, Christlike humility. About the AuthorAndrew Murray (1828-1917) was a well-known South African writer, teacher, and pastor. More than two million copies of his books have been sold, and his name is mentioned among the other great leaders of the past, such as Charles Spurgeon, T. Austin-Sparks, George Muller, D. L. Moody, and more.$0.00$13.50 -

The Coming End-time Awakening: Biblical Proof That There Is a Great Move of God During the Great Tribulation
What will be the condition of the Body of believers before Yeshua (Jesus) returns? Will we be stuck in gloom and doom? Or will there be a last days revival that will overshadow the book of Acts? Messianic Jewish Author, Ron Cantor, believes the Hebrew prophets spoke of a great move of God in the end times. The most powerful figures on earth during the great tribulation are not the antichrist or the false prophet, but the two witnesses of Revelation 11. They preach Yeshua, prophesy to Israel and the nations, drive the antichrist out of Jerusalem and consume their attackers with fire from their mouths. The 144,000 Jewish evangelists are sealed and given a new song, as they spread the eternal gospel. And they are just the first-fruits, according to Revelation 14. Paul promised that when the Jewish people accept Jesus it will mean greater riches for the nations, even life from the dead (Romans 11:12, 15). The Church has been deceived into believing that Yeshua returns to a depressed and defeated bride. This book will encourage you to expect a great awakening as we approach the time of His return.$0.00$0.99 -
Putting Our Best Book Forward
“Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” – Mark 4:41 Wisdom, encouragement, and exhortation is contained in these pages. Not because of the author’s brilliance, but because of the words of truth contained in the gospel of Mark. And just as the apostle Mark didn’t draw any attention to himself, so also J. C. Ryle clearly and wonderfully directs his words and our thoughts towards the inspired words of scripture. If we truly love God, we will love His word; and the more study His word, the more we will love God. About the AuthorJohn Charles Ryle (1816-1900) graduated from Eton and Oxford and then pursued a career in politics, but due to lack of funds, he entered the clergy of the Church of England. He was a contemporary of Spurgeon, Moody, Mueller, and Taylor and read the great theologians like Wesley, Bunyan, Knox, Calvin, and Luther. These all influenced Ryle’s understanding and theology. Ryle began his writing career with a tract following the Great Yarmouth suspension bridge tragedy, where more than a hundred people drowned. He gained a reputation for straightforward preaching and evangelism. He travelled, preached, and wrote more than 300 pamphlets, tracts, and books, including Expository Thoughts on the Gospels, Principles for Churchmen, and Christian Leaders of the Eighteenth Century. Ryle used the royalties from his writing to pay his father’s debts, but he also felt indebted to that ruin for changing the direction of his life. He was recommended by Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli to be Bishop of Liverpool where he ended his career in 1900.$0.00$16.99
