Putting Our Best Book Forward
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. – John 15:10 God will not honor the person who is not obedient. For us to have favor with God, obedience is of utmost importance. To obey is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). This is evident from the very beginning of the Bible to the very end: Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have a right to the tree of life (Revelation 22:14). From Paradise lost to Paradise regained, the necessity for obedience remains the same. It is only obedience that restores access to the tree of life and favor with God. While the original disobedience was the cause of humanity’s fall, through the obedience of Christ to the Father, and through our obedience to Christ, we can once again be restored. Although he was the Son of God, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal saving health unto all those that hearken unto him (Hebrews 5:8-9). Let this study awaken in you an earnest desire to fully know God’s will concerning this truth. Let us unite in praying that the Holy Spirit will show us how defective the Christian’s life is in which obedience does not rule everything. Let us desire to learn how that life can be exchanged for one of full surrender to absolute obedience, and how certain it is that God, through Christ, will enable us to live it out. List of Chapters Obedience – What Bible Says About It The Obedience of Christ Obtaining the Desire to Obey Preparing to Obey Intentional Obedience Obedience and Faith Willing Obedience Obedience to the Great Commission About the AuthorAndrew Murray (1828-1917) was a well-known South African writer, teacher, and pastor. When Women Were Warriors Book I: the Warrior’s Path
Winner, 2010 EPIC Ebook Award for fiction in the Mainstream category. "The strong, supple prose on display in all three novels, the intelligence of the plotting, and the skillfully varied pacing make this a standout trilogy–highly recommended"–from a review by the Historical Novel Society "Breathtakingly gorgeous writing … a multi-layered tale of such depth, breadth and insight that it was very nearly a spiritual experience…"–from a review by T. T. Thomas on Amazon.com "…there’s no ring of power or glowing sword of specialness; the magic, like the tone of the book, is quiet. It feels real."–from a blog review on livejournal When she was a child, the author happily identified with all the male heroes she read about in stories that began, "Once upon a time, a young man went out to seek his fortune." But she would have been delighted to discover even one story like that with a female protagonist. Since she never did find the story she was looking for all those years ago, she decided to write it. In Book I of the trilogy, Tamras arrives in Merin’s house to begin her apprenticeship as a warrior, but her small stature causes many, including Tamras herself, to doubt that she will ever become a competent swordswoman. To make matters worse, the Lady Merin assigns her the position of companion, little more than a personal servant, to a woman who came to Merin’s house, seemingly out of nowhere, the previous winter, and this stranger wants nothing to do with Tamras. "…Both men and women of all persuasions seem to love these books… Very rare. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!"–from a review by T. T. Thomas on Amazon.com "Think Beowulf–only comprehensible and with girls."–from a review on the blog, The Rainbow Reader, by Baxter Clare Trautman$0.00$14.95 -
